25 NEW EV SUVS COMING IN 2024: THE FUTURE IS HERE
You may have seen that EV numbers have fallen back. And indeed, some automakers like GM are scaling back their aggressive schedule for EV launches. But the bottom line is that in most states, EVs are gaining favor and adding up on the sales ledger. Plus, though some EV releases have seen launch dates set back, no car manufacturer is backing away from its plans to continue EV development. To that end, here are all of the EV SUVs automakers plan on releasing in 2024.
EV SUVs coming in 2024
Acura ZDX
In just a couple of months, Audi will begin selling its all-electric ZDX. The EV crossover will use GM’s Ultium battery platform and is a variation of the Cadillac Lyriq.
Audi Q6 E-tron
Using the new Volkswagen PPE electric platform. It has a similar size to Audi’s Q5.
Buick Crossover
Buick doesn’t have an EV, but that changes in 2024. It will be an import from China, called Electra E5.
Cadillac Escalade IQ
A completely different form than the gas-power Escalade, it will be an exclusive EV SUV at $130,000.
Chevrolet Blazer EV
Production should just be ramping up for the Blazer EV at GM’s plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.
Chevrolet Bolt EUV/EV
The Bolt is both ending and beginning. The all-new Bolt will feature the Ultium EV platform. It is expected later in 2024.
Chevrolet Equinox EV
With up to 300 miles of range, the base version may not be available in 2024, but higher-end versions will.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally EV
Though the Mustang Mach-E EV has been around for a while, a new Rally version is coming in 2024. Ford says it is a performance package.
`2024 EV SUVs use the latest technology
Honda Prologue
The Prologue is another collaboration between Honda and GM. It will use the GM Ultium platform, and under the skin is a Blazer EV.
Hyundai Kona Electric
The range for the Kona Electric is between 200 miles and 260 miles based on either the base or upper trims.
Jeep Recon
With removable doors and Wrangler looks Jeep will begin Recon production in 2024.
Jeep Wagoneer S
The Wagoneer S is a two-row luxury SUV that has unique styling that distances it from the larger three-row SUV.
Kia EV5
This is a compact crossover that scales down styling from the larger EV9. Production begins in 2024 as a 2025 model.
Kia EV9
The EV9 is the size of the Telluride and is based on the E-GMP EV platform. The range will be 300 miles and fast charging features.
Many of these EV SUVs will be at dealers in early 2024
Land Rover Range Rover
This is Land Rover’s first EV SUV model using its corporate MLA platform. Land Rover says its 300-mile range is one feature of its EV.
Land Rover Range Rover Sport
This is more a performance SUV than an off-road champion. Two motors means it is all-wheel drive.
Mercedes-Benz EQB
A refresh of the EQB is coming in 2024. You might not recognize it as new as it looks almost identical to Mercedes’ GLB-class SUV.
Polestar 3
This is a midsize SUV with dual motors and 300 miles of range. You can order the standard 483 hp motor or add a Performance Pack with 27 additional hp.
Polestar 4
The Polestar 4 is a coupe crossover model. It will arrive in Europe in just a few months. Production is from the Geely assembly plant in Cixi, China.
Porsche Macan
With 600 or more hp, the new Macan EV features a dual-motor package on the Volkswagen Group’s Premium EV Platform.
Vinfast is introducing two EV SUVs in 2024
Vinfast VF7
The VF7 arrives in Vietnam next year, previewing the U.S. version in early 2025. The most expensive version features 348 hp and 268 miles of range.
Vinfast VF9
This is Vinfast’s three-row flagship with 402 hp and 330 miles range.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz
VW has been promising the retro ID. Buzz for 16 years. Well, maybe not that long, but it is now promising that 2024 is when it will finally be for sale. We’ll see…
Volvo EX30
The EX30 arrives in the U.S. in early 2024. It is a variation of several of China’s Geely models. The range tops out at 275 miles.
Volvo EX90
This is Volvo’s top luxury EV. With a 111 kWh battery packing almost 500 hp, it gets 300 miles of range. Production begins in April 2024.
